It is time once again for This Week in Raptorland. The first show did fairly well and with the line-up today we hope to build on that. I am joined once again by Josh you friendly neighborhood beat reporter for TSN 1050 of your Toronto Raptors. Today on the show we both agree that Andrea Bargnani has been awful. We hear my interview with Demar DeRozan. Definitely a positive for the program. Also the JYD gets us going on a conversation about Kyle Lowry. We even have some Jonas Valanciunas in the program. This and the usual features that you will come to love like Rapid Fire Raptors that we try to make more Rapid. Do we succeed? The Raptorism of the week and our choices for the DNB Player of the Week. The player gets nothing for this seeing as he likely makes more than Josh and myself combine could earn in a lifetime. This and a whole lot more as Josh's love of John Lucas III and a self made nickname for Kyle Lowry also get some mention. While I suggest what Raptor the kids won't be going out as for Halloween. It was so much fun we go over the 30 minute time limit.

Hi, I wonder if yo heard the actual interview when Andrea said is fatigued. What he said is just they come out of a week of training camp and he fatigued and is not in game shape yet (which is different from being in poor physical condition) and he would need about another 10 days to get back to normal which it would be almost a non news, for any player. The taller the player the more time they need and it applies to Andrea just as much as Ed Davis.
ReplyDeleteAnother myth you could debunk (it is my scoop for you) go back and look at the numbers, there is no such thing as "me magical 13 games" look at the stats and count the games.
Vince Carter never said he did not give his best; Yet again, never let the truth spoil a nice story.
There is a span of close to 13 games where Andrea was on fire. That is what it references. He never returned to that level. I have always been amazed at how little he had to do to erase the past 6 years of mostly not meeting expectations.
ReplyDeleteIt is the pre-season and honestly if Andrea turns things around by start of season this is a non issue. But when you consider most of the team has been here for over a month and he is saying words like fatigued regardless of context I am not sure how that can be classed as anything but a bad thing.
Also I said clearly in the podcast this was something that his DETRACTORS would run with. Which is 100% true.
As for the Vince Carter TNT interview that is so far in the past it isn't worth going over again. People have their firm opinions on that and it is not going to change. I personally have never hated Vince as much as everyone else but the frustrating part is most people feel he was capable of far more than what he has accomplished.
